Sand Brothers is a new musical project formed by Greg Walker (Machine Translations) and Rick Sands (The Night Party), along with Pete Cook (Yamamoto), Din Roberts (Kutcha Edwards Band) and Glen Scarlett (Oak). Their music taps into an immediate and deep melodic seam of driving Australiana, mined by the likes of The Triffids, Crow, The Saints and Died Pretty – resulting in atmospheres of urgency and calm, shadows of light and dark, power and restraint. Sand Bothers will be launching their debut album, ‘Too Much Sky’ at Archies Creek. Their recent single, ‘Adelaide’ was hailed as “a jangling, sparkling slice of antipodean summer.” ‘Too Much Sky’ is out in May on vinyl and all streaming services through Summer Storm Records.

Murphnick is the new moniker for Melbourne songwriter, Nick Murphy, formerly of The Anyones, who released two widely acclaimed records in the early 2000’s. The Anyones toured Australia and US extensively with the likes of Morrissey, The Killers, Jet, The Vines and You Am I, as well as playing Livid, Homebake and Big Day Out festivals. Since then, Nick has released two highly praised solo albums, touring the country with such local heroes as The Gin Club, Dan Kelly and Even. Nick is thrilled to be releasing his third album, ‘Strange Ride’ at Archies Creek, where his five-piece band will explore the harmonies and textures drawn from his deep love of early ‘70s Americana and dreamy psychedelia. ‘Strange Ride’ is out now on Cheersquad Records and Tapes.
