The Hillbilly Killers

Featuring BILL CHAMBERS, TIM ROGERS, & CATHERINE BRIT. With very special guest: LISA MILLER!

Coming to life through late night conversations about Hank Williams and all things music, The Hillbilly Killers are a band with a clear foundation and love for all things music. And fun.  What started as an idea, based on the music of the great Hank Williams, in the mind of Bill Chambers as he flew over the dead heart of the Australian outback in the middle of 2010 has finally seen the light of day. With some help and a whole lot of perseverance. Bill has been working with Catherine Britt since she was 14 and they have a strong friendship based on mutual respect and a strong passion for music and for Bill she was the first sounding board. The idea gained momentum and soon Tim Rogers was on board literally in the time it took to send two text messages that went some thing like this: Bill – “Do you like Hank Williams? Catherine & I are starting a band called the Hillbilly Killers.” Tim – “Yes. I love him. I’m in.” The equally enthusiastic music aficionados James Gillard and Michael Muchow rounded out the band.

Over the last 2 years songwriting and demo work was completed. This was not process to be rushed but nurtured until the band felt they had a bunch of songs that deserved to see the light of day. They entered the studio in late 2012. The first installment, ‘They Call Us The Hillbilly Killers’, was serviced online in early January and was met with immediate praise and anticipation of what is to follow. Hillbilly: Informal, unsophisticated country person. Killers: A formidable or excellent person or thing.
