Spawned in the back alleys of Melbourne’s bohemia 5 years ago, the Skallions have been peddling their mixture of rustic romanticism, junkyard blues, pikie polkas, whirling waltzes, and vaudevillian rock n’roll vignettes, internationally and Australia wide, at far flung festivals, Spiegel tents, National galleries, and roguish soirees beneath bridges.
Most recently Rapskallion were awarded “Best musical act”, at the Adelaide fringe festival for their three rebel rousing shows at the”Idolize Spiegeltent” in the Garden of unearthly delights.
They have performed at many of Australia’s top music festivals, including Splendor In The Grass, The National Folk festival, Rainbow Serpent, Woodford Folk Festival and Folk Rhythm and Life. They have also completed residencies at the Famous Spiegel Tent and the National Gallery of Victoria.
Internationally Rapskallion toured the UK in mid 2009 and Europe in mid 2010, performing at well known music festivals such as Fusion Festival (Germany) the Secret Garden Party, Glade, Sunrise, Edinburgh Fringe, The Hat Fair (UK) and Aurillac International Street Theatre Festival (France
Rapskallion are proud to release their new album Vagabond King on Vinyl and CD, a marauding musical celebration of the exploits of a buccaneering crow, back alley felines, a bad ass femme fatale, and the vagabond king himself, set to a soundtrack reminiscent of a Halloween knees up at a south sea pirate haven.
