Dave Mason with the Reel B!G Dogs

Blues, countrypolitan, psychedelia & pop as interpreted by Dave Mason & John Boy Bliss (The Reels), Reg Mombassa & Pete O’Doherty (Mental As Anything/Dog Trumpet) and Brendan Gallagher (Karma County).

Dave and John Boy grew up in Dubbo. Dave dreamt of Carol King and Hank
Williams and sang in his sleep, John Boy wanted to play drums like Bonzo
Bonham and practiced on his pillow. One day they realized The Reels and
embarked on hit-making in the shimmering city. Pete and Reg sailed from the land of the long white cloud with Houndog
Taylor and Harry Nilsson ringing in their ears. They encountered like-minded
beings in Terra Australis creating Mental As Anything before moving on to
Dog Trumpet and splashing colour all around.
Brendo emerged from fibro country right hand on rhythm and left in rhyme to
form Karma County and make records with Uncle Jimmy Little.
In 20th and 21st century they wandered into each other’s back yards and
strummed and yodeled together on fave toons – Freddy Fender, Cream,
Bread and more… coming soon to a planet near you.
