Backsliders + Old Grey Mule (USA)

All the way from Sydney, BACKSLIDERS (Dom Turner, Rob Hirst & Broderick Smith) are back in Melbourne after their successful cd launch earlier this year. Their new album "Dark Side" was described by the Australian as maintaining “an enviable history of redefining, refining and diversifying the [blues] genre” and they will be sharing the stage with OLD GREY MULE (USA) - a two-man Mississippi Hill Country and Raw Electric blues wrecking machine.

Backsliders powerhouse live performances are well-known on the Australian festival circuit, and. the band are just back from playing their trademark genre-bending swamp blues to main stage crowds at Byron Bay Bluesfest and Broadbeach blues festival.

In live mode “..Dom Turner’s over-driven steel guitar and Rob Hirst’s hyper-bombastic drumming wield a blues that is much louder, much more raucous, than blues-inspired rock acts like The White Stripes and The Black Keys’  ‘(FasterLouder.com.au)
