AUGIE MARCH

Doors 8pm, Show 8.30pm

Straddling the various sub and mainstream cultures of the Australian music world with relative comfort and ease for years, Augie March have continued to do what they do regardless of what ice cream flavour is melting on the contemporary footpath. Winners of the AMP, Hottest 100, various APRA gongs and much else, this unassuming lot have been indie as can be, spread all over the corporate map, revered across the globe by the highest, mightiest, lowest and dirtiest. You can see them one night making tender dreams and roiling nightmares come alive on a theatre stage, the next night tearing it up in a dive, the next being the nicest bunch of neo-folkies you ever met at your local RSL as they work out a set for the winery up in the lofty hills the following afternoon.

THE STETSON FAMILY & THE YEARLINGS

Doors Open 2.30pm, Showtime 3pm

The Stetson Family walk the line between alt-country and bluegrass with their free-wheeling, spirited songs, awash with soaring harmonies and lucky for us they are heading our way this April. With 16 years playing together under their belts, The Stetson Family continue to deliver spirited, free-wheeling Americana, folk and bluegrass – and they’re champing at the bit to be launching their fourth album, The Stars, If You Look Closely. In December 2023, the first single off The Stars, If You Look Closely, reached #2 on Global Radio Indicator charts (Airplay DirectUSA). Joining the Stetsons on stage will be THE YEARLINGS A quiet, intimate, raw and powerful duo, producing a new strain of acoustic music, distilling Americana through the filter of distinctly Australian life.

The Exploding Universe of Ed Kuepper

Doors 2.30pm, Show 3pm

The Exploding Universe of Ed Kuepper returns to stages this April in celebration of the remastered reissued vinyl release of 1992’s ARIA winning (Best Independent release) solo effort Black Ticket Day plus Law Of Nature, the 1984 post-punk classic from Kuepper's influential post-Saints outfit, Laughing Clowns. For the April tour Kuepper will again feature drummer Mark Dawson, bassist Peter Oxley, pianist Alister Spence and brass arranger Eamon Dilworth. “The band is blistering; Peter Oxley and Mark Dawson are locked in as tight as Superglue stuck between two fingers. Alister Spence is masterful on keys. Eamon Dilworth on trumpet brings echoes of Miles Davis’s “Sketches in Spain” set to a solid backbeat. It rocks.” - i94bar.com sometimes all within one song." - Backstreet Ma

CHARM OF FINCHES

Doors Open 8pm, Show 8.30pm @ Archies Creek Hall

w/ special guest RILEY CATHERALL

Melbourne sisters Charm of Finches and their band perform intricate folk-pop with seamless blood harmonies, celebrating the release of their anticipated fourth album ‘Marlinchen in the Snow’. With songs simultaneously graceful and darkly bewitching; the sisters, Mabel and Ivy, toured extensively in UK/Europe in 2022/23 and recorded the album in rural Nova Scotia, Canada with acclaimed producer Daniel Ledwell. Inspired by the frozen beauty of the landscape in which it was created, the album reflects on the sisters’ transient life on the road, themes of belonging, home, and the fragility of relationships. They were the 2021 Music Victoria Best Folk Act and were nominated twice for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. Special guest Riley Catherall will open the night with his “beautifully constructed and immaculately delivered” songs. Riley has built a credible status as one of the country’s most promising songwriters through his poetic sincerity and alluring live shows.
